Author Biographies

Bruce Rothschild graduated from the New Jersey College of Medicine in 1973. He is a member of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Rheumatology and the Society of Skeletal Radiology and was elected to the International Skeletal Society. His special interests focus on clinical–anatomical–radiological correlation, data-based paleopathology, the evolution of inflammatory arthritis and tuberculosis and the management of inflammatory arthritis. He has been a Visiting Professor in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Asia and Australia and an invited lecturer at universities, hospitals and museums around the world. He is the author of seven books and has participated in eight Discovery Channel/BBC documentaries on the origins of diseases. Rothschild has been a Professor of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, West Virginia University and Indiana University Health and holds a Research Associateship at Carnegie Museum.
