Dr. Rachele Simonte is a doctor specializing in anesthesia at Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital (PERUGIA, Italy). She graduated from the University of Perugia (Perugia, Italy) with a Doctorate in Translational Medicine. Her research interests include CPAP, ICU, pressure support ventilation, lung ultrasound, postoperative pulmonary complications, etc.
Prof. Dr. Gianmaria Cammarota is an associate professor at the Department of Translational Medicine, Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale, and a physician of anesthesiology and intensive care at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Maggiore della Carita. He completed a master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (Medicina e Chirurgia) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 2003. He has published 109 papers in various journals, gaining more than 2100 citations (Scopus, March 2024). Furthermore, he is a member of the Airway and Mechanical Ventilation subcommittee of the ESAIC, an active member of the PLUG, as well as a scientific coordinator of the Lung Ultrasound Course by SIAARTI and New Technologies of Diagnosis and Care by SIAARTI.
Luigi Vetrugno is an associate professor of anesthesia and intensive care and works at the University of Chieti-Pescara. He earned his MD from the University of Chieti Medical School in 1998, and then completed the Italian National Board Exam and specialized in anesthesiology, intensive care, and pain therapy at the University of Udine Medical School in 1999 and 2002, respectively. From 2002 to 2009, he was one of the sub-specialty staff members for cardiothoracic critical care and anesthesia, providing clinical services for a broad range of cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical assist device management. His clinical works focus on general intensive care and anesthesia. Luigi Vetrugno has published over 230 peer-reviewed articles, with around 2450 citations. He also serves as an editor and reviewer for various journals.

Prof. Federico Longhini is an associate professor at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University “Magna Graecia” of Catanzaro. Following graduation, Prof. Federico Longhini was a resident physician in anesthesia and intensive care at the Amedeo Avogadro University of Eastern Piedmont. He then continued as a fellow at the intensive care unit, Southeast University (China, 2013), the Neonatal Intensive care unit, Antoine-Béclère Hospital (2014), and Bicetre Hospital (2014). From 2014 to 2016, he served as a medical doctor at Sant'Andrea Hospital. Currently, he works at the University Hospital “Renato Dulbecco” in Catanzaro, as the Director of the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care. He has published 125 peer-reviewed papers, receiving more than 2200 citations (Scopus, March 2024). His research interests cover the areas of acute respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation, as well as non-invasive ventilation.
Prof. Savino Spadaro, MD, Ph.D., is an associate professor in anesthesiology and intensive care at the Department of Morphology, Surgery, and Experimental Medicine at the University of Ferrara. He obtained his Ph.D. in Experimental and Regenerative Medicine and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Foggia. His research interests include anaesthesiology, inflammation, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamics, anesthesiology, surgery, laparoscopic surgery, respiratory mechanics, critical care, and ventilation.
