Liguo Yang is a “Shen Nong Scholar” chair professor at the
School of Veterinary Medicine at Hunan Agricultural University, a second-level
professor at Huazhong Agricultural University, director of the Department of
Animal Reproduction and Special Economics, and deputy director of the Key Laboratory
of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Reproduction of the Ministry of Education. He
graduated from Hunan Agricultural University with a bachelor’s degree in animal
husbandry in 1982, received a master’s degree in science and a doctorate in
science from Nanjing Agricultural University, and a postdoctoral degree from
Roweh Institute in the United Kingdom. His research interests include animal
reproduction, animal reproductive physiology and reproductive technology, and
breeding of special economic animals. He taught animal husbandry at the Animal
Husbandry Department of Nanjing Agricultural University from 1985 to 2002 and
then taught at Huazhong Agricultural University. The results of projects he
presided over have won 8 national invention patents, 1 national utility model
patent, and 7 achievement awards (second and third class) at provincial and
ministerial levels or above.
