Prof. Dr. Carlos Henrique Camargo is currently working as a Scientific Researcher at the Centre of Bacteriology, Instituto Adolfo Lutz, responsible for the Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) and Antimicrobial Resistance in Gram-negative bacilli bench. He is also a Masters and Doctorate Advisor for the Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Program at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FM/USP). At the same time, he serves as Associate Editor of the journals BMC Infectious Diseases and Frontiers in Microbiology. He graduated in Biological Sciences from the Institute of Biosciences of Botucatu (UNESP, 2009), received a PhD in Pathophysiology in Clinical Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu (UNESP, 2012), and specialized in Prevention and Control of Infection Related to Healthcare (UNIFESP, 2016). He has experience in the areas of Clinical, Medical and Food Microbiology, with an emphasis on Bacteriology, Healthcare-Associated Infections, Antimicrobial Resistance and Molecular Epidemiology.
Dr. Diego Nobrega is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary. He is currently the Canada Research Chair in Antimicrobial Resistance and One Health. Diego received his DVM from the Sao Paulo State University and worked in private practice for 2 years. Diego obtained his MSc in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the Sao Paulo State University and his PhD in Infectious Diseases from the University of Calgary. He took a 2-year postdoctoral position at the Ontario Veterinary College where he also worked for the Public Health Agency of Canada. The primary goal of his program is to design effective evidence-based intervention and control strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance.
