Maria Villa is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master of Neuroscience (specialization in Clinical Neurology) from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain in 2015 and 2016, respectively. She received her Ph.D. in “Biomedical Research” (cum laude) from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain in 2022. She studied at the San Carlos Health Research Institute (Group: GECEN), Madrid, Spain from 2015 to 2022. Her research interests include neurobiology, neurophysiology, neurodegeneration, neurobiology and brain physiology, neuropharmacology, neurodegenerative diseases, brain diseases, neuroprotection, neurological diseases, and neuroanatomy.
Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer nat. Jens Pahnke, E.F.N. (www.pahnkelab.eu) is a Full Professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Oslo, and Head of the Section of Neuropathology Research at the University Hospital Oslo. He also serves as a Lecturer at the University of Lübeck, University of Latvia, and Tel Aviv University. He is a European Fellow in Neuropathology (E.F.N.) since 2007, and was awarded with the Oswald Schmiedeberg Prize in Pharmacology in 2022. He is an Honorary Member of the Latvian Society of Pharmacology.
