Dr. Michele D’Alto graduated in 1990 with an MD from the University Federico II, Naples, Italy (with honors); in 1994 as a cardiology specialist at the University Federico II, Naples, Italy (with honors); and in 2003 with a Ph.D. in cardio-respiratory science from the Second University of Naples, Italy. From 2008 to the present, he has worked as a Professor at the School of Cardiology of the “L. Vanvitelli” University of Naples, Italy. He is the Head of the Pulmonary Hypertension Unit at Monaldi Hospital, Naples, Italy. He has published about 170 peer-reviewed papers; his main research fields are pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart disease. He has also co-authored 10 books on cardiology, and participated as principal investigator in 20 international multicenter studies. He is an Editorial Board Member of the “International Journal of Cardiology”. He is a trained invasive cardiologist, electrophysiologist, and echocardiography
expert.
Natale D. Brunetti received his Ph.D. in cardiovascular and respiratory physiopathology and clinics from Foggia University in 2006. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor of cardiology at Foggia University. He has held clinical fellowships at the Cardiology Department of “Eberhard Karls” Universität, Tübingen, Germany, since 1997; at the Cardiology Department of the “Carolinska Institutet”, Stockholm, Sweden, since 1998; and in interventional cardiology at “S. Raffaele” Hospital, Milan, Italy, since 2009.
Carmine Dario Vizza is a professor at the Department of Clinical, Internal, Anesthesiological, and
Cardiovascular Sciences of the Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy. He completed his Ph.D. studies in medicine at the University “La Sapienza” in 1983. He was an assistant professor in cardiology at the University “La Sapienza” from 1988 to 2013 and has been an associate professor in cardiology at the University of Rome Sapienza since 2013.
Dr. Stefano Ghio obtained his medical degree (cum laude) from the University of Pavia School of Medicine at 23 years old, and he specialises in Cardiology at the same institution. Since graduating, he has worked in the Division of Cardiology at Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Italy. Currently, he leads the Heart Failure, Transplant, and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Unit of the Cardiology Division. Dr. Ghio has authored or co-authored more than 300 papers published in indexed medical journals on topics such as pulmonary hypertension, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and cardiac imaging techniques for heart failure and cardiomyopathies.
