Abdo Jurjus has been a Professor of Anatomical Sciences at
the American University of Beirut for almost 4 decades. He is also an Adjunct
Professor at George Washington University for 20 years and an Adjunct Professor
at the University of Palermo for almost 10 years. He earned his BS, MS, and Ph.D.,
all from the American University of Beirut, in 1972, 1974, and 1976, respectively.
He is a member of many professional societies, such as AAA, AACA, ASCB, and NY
Academic Sciences. He is also the founder of many NGOs: the Lebanese Health
Society, the Lebanese AIDS Society, the Lebanese Hypertension League and the
Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Sciences. His main research areas
include Inflammation, Burn Wound Healing, Colorectal Cancer, IBD,
Cardiovascular Diseases and HIV/AIDS.
