Author Biographies

Shunzhen Zheng is working as the deputy chief physician of hepatobiliary surgery at Shandong Provincial Hospital. He was a visiting scholar at Fraunhofer-IBMT in Germany. He  also was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore. In addition, he is a member of the Liver Tumor Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of International Healthcare Exchange, a member of the Organ Procurement and Distribution Management Working Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association and a member of the Pancreatic Minimally Invasive Group of the Pancreatic Disease Professional Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association.
Siew Wee Chan is currently a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). She received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology Singapore. Her main research areas include Cancer Biology, Tumor Biology, Cell Migration and Signal Transduction.
Fei Liu is currently working as the Vice President of the Shandong Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Director of the Institute of Biopharmaceuticals and Cosmetics. He led the team to achieve several scientific research results, won more than 10 scientific and technological awards including the second prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and published more than 70 papers and 18 invention patents. He has rewarded the Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Shandong Province in 2019.
Jun Liu is a professor and doctor supervisor at Shandong University. He works as a chief physician at the Department of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery, Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University. He is an expert in liver transplant surgery. He has won the Shandong Province Top Ten Science and Technology Achievement Award, Provincial Science and Technology Progress Second Prizes, and Provincial Department of Education Outstanding Achievements First Prize.
Pierce Kah Hoe Chow is a Professor and Program Director at the Duke-NUS Medical School and a Senior Consultant Surgeon at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the Singapore General Hospital. He is concurrently a National Medical Research Council (NMRC) funded Senior Clinician-Scientist and founding President of the College of Clinician Scientists, Academy of Medicine Singapore. In addition, He is the Protocol Chair of the Asia-Pacific Hepatocellular Carcinoma (AHCC) Trials Group and leads multi-national investigator-initiated clinical studies. For his dedicated research on liver cancer, he was conferred the NMRC National Outstanding Clinician Scientist Award in 2012 and Duke-NUS Master Academic Clinician Award in 2023. He is also a faculty member at the Genome Institute of Singapore and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute and Research Director at the Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology Singapore.
Han Chong Toh is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). He is also an Adjunct Principal Investigator at the Singapore Immunology Network and the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, and a Tenured Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. With over 25 years of experience as a medical oncologist, he is passionate about advancing clinical care and translational cancer research in Singapore and beyond. His research interests include cancer immunology, immunotherapy, inflammation, the microenvironment, cancer biology, health economics, and health policy. He has received multiple awards and honors, such as the National Senior Clinician Scientist Award.
