Author Biographies

Prof. Dr. Christoph Jochum is Deputy Department Head (CCM) at the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He graduated from Medical School at University GH Essen, in 1998, and received training at the Center for Internal Medicine, Universitätsklinikum Essen in 2002. He was a fellow at the Promotion Institute for Cell Biology, Universitätsklinikum Essen, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA, USA. He has been the Director of the Clinic of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, St. Josef Hospital Essen–Werden (Universitätsmedizin Essen), since 2016. His research interests are hepatology, hepator algae syndrome, dog ligament worm, hemangioma, hemochromatosis, IgG4-associated cholangitis, infectiology, LAL-D, liver cadaver, liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma/HCC), liver metastases most, meulengracht syndrome, Wilson’s disease, PBC, PSC, porphyria, giant cell hepatitis, and secondary sclerosing cholangitis (SSC).
