Xinyu Bai is a Ph.D. student at the University of Sydney and Melanoma Institute Australia. She obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons Class I—Immunology) at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on understanding the immunogenomics of the melanoma microenvironment, and their implications for immunotherapy response. She studies the single cells and interactions in their spatial context using cutting-edge techniques to understand immunotherapy response and resistance in melanoma. The study also reveals varying immune evasive traits in ITM melanomas showing resistance to treatment, including increased immune checkpoint receptor expression, high proliferation, and low immune cell recruitment.
