Dr. Daniele Giacoppo studied medicine (2003–2009) and completed a specialist fellowship in cardiology (2009–2015), including subspecialty training in coronary, structural heart, and peripheral interventions, at the University of Catania, Catania, Italy. During his training in cardiology, he conducted a research fellowship in cardiovascular research and clinical trials at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, United States (2013–2014). After graduating in cardiology, he started an interventional and research fellowship on coronary and structural heart interventions at the German Heart Centre of Munich, Munich, Germany (2015–2017). Later, he moved back to Italy as a consultant cardiologist but continued to collaborate as a senior researcher at ISAResearch at the German Heart Centre of Munich (2017–present). He completed a Master of Science in Biostatistics at the University of Padua, Padua, Italy (2018) and a PhD Program in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Padua (2021). In 2020, he became an honorary lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a research consultant at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Dublin, Mater Private Hospital Dublin. He worked for some years as an Interventional Cardiologist at the Mirano Hospital, Italy and Alto Vicentino Hospital, Italy. In March 2023, he became Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of Catania.

Prof. Dr. Davide Capodanno, MD, Ph.D., is a full professor of cardiology at the University of Catania and interventional cardiologist at the Cardiac-Thoracic-Vascular and Transplant Department, Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria “Policlinico G. Rodolico-S. Marco” in Catania, Italy. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Catania and completed his research training at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, USA. He has authored 650+ manuscripts published in the peer-reviewed literature, including original articles, reviews, and editorials. He has co-authored five textbooks on interventional cardiology and seventeen textbook chapters. He has delivered 200+ invited lectures at international meetings, including ESC, ACC, EuroPCR, TCT, CIT, and TCTAP. His areas of interest and expertise include coronary revascularization, drug-eluting stents, antithrombotic pharmacotherapy, trial design, and biostatistics. He is the co-director of the PCR Clinical Research Course and associate director of the TCT. He is a member of the Working Group on Thrombosis of the ESC and a member of the Educative Solutions Research Group Programme of PCR. He serves as editor-in-chief of Eurointervention, section editor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and editorial consultant of JACC Cardiovascular Interventions and Circulation Cardiovascular Interventions.
