Dr Norberto Carlos Chávez-Tapia is a Gastroenterology Specialist with more than 10 years of experience. Currently, he provides consultation to children and adults at the Médica Sur Hospital, located in Mexico City. He is an expert in the treatment of cirrhosis, hepatitis C, hepatic encephalopathy, ascites, and fatty liver, among others. He graduated from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) with a degree in Medicine. Later he became Certified in the Specialties of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is an Adjunct Professor at the UNAM Faculty of Medicine and is also a Professor at La Salle University (ULSA). He has various works as an author on topics focused on his speciality, in addition to having collaborations with the National Institute of Health. He has various recognitions from the Cochrane Hepatobiliary Group, the Centro Studi Fegato, Italy, the Mexican Association of Hepatology, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver, among other important recognitions and awards.
Dr Misael Uribe has a position as a Chair and is currently working at the Médica Sur Hospital, located in Mexico City. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, a Master’s from the American College of Physicians, and a Doctorate in Clinical Research from the National Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the Biomedical Committee, the Mexican Competitiveness Committee, the Royal Academy of Catalonia, and the Royal Academy of Medicine of Salamanca. He is a board member of the International Association for the Study of the Liver. He was a former president of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico, the Latin American Association of National Academies of Medicine, the Association of Internal Medicine of Mexico, and the Mexican and Latin American Association of Hepatology. His research interests mainly include liver diseases, the liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cirrhosis, liver failure, liver diseases and immunology, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and chronic hepatitis C. Dr Eduardo Esteban Montalvo-Javé is a Professor of the Department of Surgery and Biochemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is a specialist in surgery of the digestive system, gastroenterology, gallbladder, gallstones, liver tumors, pancreas, inguinal hernias, and the abdominal wall. He graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico as a Medical Surgeon. Subsequently, he completed a speciality in General Surgery and a Master's Degree in Health Institutions Administration at Universidad La Salle. He has a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences.
Dr Natalia Nuño-Lámbarri is a Senior Researcher at the Medica Sur Translational Research Unit, Medica Sur Clinic & Foundation. She received a Masters and a PhD in Experimental Biology from Metropolitan Autonomous University in 2011 and 2016, respectively. She was awarded the Research Prize in the area of Biological and Health Sciences issued by Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
