Raewyn C. Poulsen is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, University of Auckland. She is a biomedical scientist leading a research group focused on understanding the molecular pathways involved in the pathogenesis of arthritis. Her work is particularly focused on osteoarthritis and gout and includes understanding how disease pathogenesis differs between different population groups (such as males and females). She also has specialist expertise in peripheral circadian clock signaling and work in her group has contributed to understanding of the role peripheral circadian clocks in maintaining normal tissue function and the impact of peripheral circadian clock disruption in disease development.
Nicola Dalbeth is an academic rheumatologist who leads a research programme in gout. Her work focuses on understanding mechanisms of disease, impact and effective treatments. She has served as a member of the Core Leadership Team for the 2020 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Gout Management Guidelines and as a steering committee member for the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) gout group and the ACR/European League Against Rheumatism gout classification project.
