Dr. Dimitrios N. Skoutas serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering (ICSE) at the University of the Aegean, Greece. His current research activities include resource management in context-aware Next Generation Networks, especially in heterogeneous IoT network environments. He serves on the editorial boards of Wireless Networks (Springer) and Internet Technology Letters (Wiley). He previously served on the editorial board of the Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking (EURASIP). He also held positions on the editorial boards of Advances in Electrical Engineering and The Scientific World Journal (Communications and Networking), both published by Hindawi. Furthermore, Dr. Skoutas actively participates in the Technical Program and the organizing committees for several conferences.
Dr. Panagiotis Sarigiannidis is the Director of the ITHACA lab, the co-founder of the first spin-off of the University of Western Macedonia, MetaMind Innovations PC, and Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2001 and 2007, respectively. He has published over 220 papers in international journals, conferences, and book chapters, including IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Internet of Things, IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Access, and Computer Networks. He has been involved in several national, European, and international projects. His research interests include telecommunication networks, the Internet of Things, and network security.
Dr. Georgios Kormentzas received the Diploma and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He is a Professor of Network Management at the Department of Information and Communications Systems, University of the Aegean, Samos, Greece. He has published extensively in international scientific journals, edited books, and conference proceedings. He is a member of pronounced professional societies, an active reviewer for several journals and conferences, and an EU-Independent Expert (being both the Evaluator and the Rapporteur) for various EC Framework Programmes. He acted as the Vice President of OPEKEPE, the Greek Paying Agency for Community Aids according to the EC Common Agriculture Policy from 2010 to 2012.
Dr. Charalabos Skianis is currently an associate professor at the Department of Information and Communication Systems at the University of the Aegean in Samos, Greece. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Bradford, UK, and a B.Sc. in Physics from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. His current research activities take upon novel internet architectures and services, cloud computing and networking, energy and context-aware next-generation networks and services, management aspects of mobile and wireless networks, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, and end-to-end quality of service provisioning in heterogeneous network environments. He has been actively working in the area of computer and communication systems performance modeling and evaluation, where he has introduced alternative methodologies for the approximate analysis of certain arbitrary queuing network models. He is also keen on traffic modeling and characterization, queuing theory, and traffic control of wired and wireless telecommunication systems. He acts within Technical Programs and Organizing Committees for numerous conferences and workshops (e.g., IFIP Networking, symposium chair for several IEEE Globecom and IEEE ICC conferences).
