Herbert Tilg is the Director of the Department of Internal Medicine I (Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Endocrinology) at Medical University Innsbruck, Austria. He completed his research fellowship at Tufts University with Charles Dinarello. His research focus is "Inflammation and Cytokine Research“ in gastrointestinal disorders. He is also an Associate Editor of GUT. He has served as a member of the Governing Board of the European Crohn´s Colitis Organisation (ECCO), EASL and UEG.
