Author Biographies

Dr. Yamina Ben Miri serves at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Faculty of Sciences, Mohamed Boudiaf University, M’sila, Algeria. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi, Ouzou, Algeria. Her main research focuses are biochemistry, applied microbiology, and bioinformatics.
Dr. Amina Benabdallah is an associate professor at the Laboratory of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Pollution, Faculty of Life and Nature Sciences, University Chadli Bendjedid, El Tarf, Algeria. Dr. Benabdallah conducts research in agricultural plant science, botany, and analytical chemistry. Their current project is "Preservation of foodstuffs".
Dr. Imene Chentir is an associate professor in Food Science at the Laboratory of Food, Processing, Control and Agri-Resources Valorization, Higher School of Food Science and Agri-Food Industry, Algiers, Algeria. She was awarded the Algeria Scopus Award 2022 for Outstanding Early Career Researcher (Agriculture and Biological Sciences).
Djamel Djenane is a professor at the Department of Food Science, Mouloud Mammeri University, Tizi-Ouzou (Algeria). He worked as a researcher at the University of Zaragoza from 2000 to 2010. He obtained his Ph.D. in Food Science from the Department of Food Science and Technology, Veterinary Faculty of Zaragoza University, Spain in 2012. His research interests lie in the area of meat science and technology. In recent years, he has focused on new technologies for meat biopreservation and hurdle technology. He has actively collaborated with researchers from several other food science and technology disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Andrea Luvisi is a full professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies (DiSTeBA), the University of Salento (Italy). Before that, he was an associate professor (2018–2023) and a researcher (2015–2018). He obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Production Sciences from the University of Pisa in 2010. In addition, he is the President of the Teaching Council of the Degree Course in Viticulture and Oenology of the University of Salento (2020–2024), a Member of the Board of the National University Coordination of Degree Courses in Viticulture and Oenology (CUVE) (2022–2024), and an academic member of the Georgofili Academy, etc.
Prof. Dr. Luigi De Bellis is a full professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies, University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. He received his Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from the University of Pisa in 1986. His research activity focuses on crop physiology/genetic characterization of cereals/olive trees, plant-pathogen interaction, and the study of the nutraceutical properties of secondary metabolites present in plants. He served as director of the University Department and as a board member of the CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) in Lecce, Italy. He is also a reviewer of many journals and editor in chief of Horticulturae.
