Prof. Lior Lowenstein is the head of Azrieli Medical School Bar Ilan University and an Associate Dean of education. He is a graduate of the Israeli Health Ministry's prestigious "Inbar" management program, and he has a master's degree in Health Systems Management (MHA) from the University of Haifa and an MBA, specializing in Health Systems Management, from Tel Aviv University. He was a Resident in Gynecology and Obstetrics, followed by a three-year fellowship in pelvic floor surgery at Loyola University Hospital in Chicago, one of the leading centers in the field in the United States. During his fellowship, he specialized in advanced surgical methods, including robotic, laparoscopic, and vaginal approach surgeries, Botox injections, and pacemaker implants to improve bladder function.
Prof. Jacob Bornstein is a Professor and Past Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Galilee Medical Center and Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and an Honorary Professor at Buenos Aires University, School of Medicine. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1980 and worked as a Post Doc in Virology at the Baylor College of Medicine from 1985 to 1987. He is a former President of the ISSVD and is currently the chairman of the IFCPC and the ISSVD terminology committee. In these roles, he introduced consensus terminologies of vulvodynia, VIN, and colposcopy of the cervix, vagina, and vulva. He received the “Distinguished Scientific Award” from the American Colposcopy Society and the “ISSVD President Award of Merit”.
