Dr. Luca Paolo Ardigò is a physiologist, biomechanist, and sports scientist. He has a position as a Full Professor in Sports and is currently working at the Department of Teacher Education, NLA University College, Oslo, Norway. He received his Ph.D. in Biomechanics from the Institute for Biophysical and Clinical Research into Human Movement, Exercise and Sport Sciences Department, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He is a member of Propulsione Umana (Italian National Association member of WHPVA). He deals mainly with (1) bio-mechanics & -energetics of natural human/comparative movement/locomotion, (2) bio-mechanics & -energetics of assisted human movement/locomotion, and (3) portable devices for measuring physical activity & metabolic expenditure. He leads an international team to design & manufacture watercraft for disabled people, i.e., the handwaterbike.
