Irene González-Díez is a predoctoral researcher in the Health Sciences program at the University of Burgos (Spain). She has completed an international stay at the Universidade do Minho (Portugal). Graduated in Psychology from the University of Salamanca (2016), Master's Degree in Research in Health Sciences (2020), Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching with a specialty in Educational Guidance (2018) and Training in Systemic Family Therapy from the Vasco Navarra School (EVNTF) (2021). She has developed her professional activity as a family therapist in multidisciplinary teams and an educational and work counselor with groups at risk of social exclusion. She belongs to the DATAHES research group and national and international associations, such as ADIPSIEDUC and ACIP.
Dr in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Barcelona. Her research work has mainly focused on the field of intervention and prevention of eating disorders through the use of new technologies. She has published several publications in high-impact journals related to psychological assessment and intervention, mainly in relation to the aforementioned field of specialisation. Likewise, her teaching activity has also focused on subjects related to the field of psychological intervention.
Carmen Varela has attended and participated in several national and international congresses and scientific conferences. She has also carried out a research stay at the international centre in the "Research Unit for Dietary Studies" belonging to the Parker Research Institute, The Parker Institute, within the University Hospital of Copenhagen, Denmark.
She is currently a post-doctoral researcher thanks to the Margarita Salas programme, awarded by the University of Barcelona. She is currently working and developing her professional activity at the University of Burgos, specifically within the recognised research group "Data Analysis Techniques Applied in Health Environments Sciences (DATAHES)" directed by Professor María Consuelo Saiz Manzanares. Finally, this year, she is also in the process of applying for a Ramón y Cajal grant.
