Prof. Dr. Joachim Altschmied currently working as a Professor
in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Department of Biology,
Heinrich-Heine-University, Düsseldorf, Germany. He served as Laboratory Head at
IUF-Leibniz Institute for Environmental Medicine from 2008–2022. He holds a
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Darmstadt University of Technology in 1988. His
research topics mainly include molecular aging processes, redox regulation in
the cardiovascular system; endothelial cell signaling, mitochondria vascular
aging, compartment-specific protein functions.
