Dr. Cristina Liana Popa received her PhD in Physics from the University of Bucharest and University of Le Havre in 2016. She worked as an Assistant Researcher at National Institute of Materials Physics (2011–2016). In 2017, she moved to The National Institute for Research and Development for Optoelectronics - INOE 2000 and was promoted to Senior Researcher II in 2024. Her research topics mainly include: water quality assessment, emerging pollutants, spectroscopy, microscopy and cytometry.

Andra Mihaela Predescu received her master's degree in International Business Administration from the Engineering Faculty in Foreign Languages, Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 2009 and her Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Material Science and Engineering, Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 2012. Now she is a Research Assistant at the Center for Research and Eco-Metallurgical Expertise. Her research interests include eco-materials, heavy metals, adsorption, agri-food wastes and wastewater treatment.
Prof. Dr. Cristian Predescu is a Professor of the Ecometallurgy and Material Processing Department, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, University Politehnica of Bucharest. He received a Ph.D./Engineer degree in Materials Science from the Faculty of Metallurgy, UPB, in 1994. He is now working as the Head of the Center for Research and Eco-Metallurgical Expertise, UPB. He was the Manager of the CEEX Program, AMCSIT, UPB from 2005 to 2010, and the Manager of the RELANSIN Program, AMCSIT, UPB from 2000 to 2005. Also, he was the Associate Professor of the Ecometallurgy and Material Processing Department, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, UPB. His research mainly focuses on the synthesis of advanced materials used for water decontamination; the characterization of advanced materials: evaluating the morphology and surface topography of materials by microscopy techniques (optical, SEM, AFM); studies on micro and nanostructured surface chemistry of materials applied as support for wastewater treatment processes; metallic materials expertise, and so on.
