Prof. Dr. Rosalba Troncoso-Rojas is a full-time Research Professor at the Research Center in Food
and Development (CIAD) in Hermosillo, Mexico. She obtained her PhD in 2005 in Food Science (Technological Institute of Veracruz). She is the head of the Biotechnology and Postharvest of Fruits and Vegetables Laboratory, and the scientific leader of a research group focused in Postharvest and Biotechnology of Horticultural Products belonging to the Coordination of Plant Origin Food
Technology. The main focus of Prof. Dr. Troncoso’s research is developing environmentally friendly protocols for the control of postharvest diseases and also protocols to preserve food quality and reduce the postharvest losses of horticultural products. Currently, she is working on the elucidation of the
molecular mechanism of fungal chitin oligomer recognition in fruits, and the signaling pathways that activate the defense response in fruits. She is a member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico, and she has received several national and international awards.
Prof. Dr. María Elena Báez-Flores currently works as a Researcher Professor in Microbiology at the Faculty of Biological Chemistry Sciences, Autonomous University of Sinaloa, Culiacan, Mexico. She is a member of the American Society of Microbiology, an honorary member of the SSIT with a PRODEP profile, and a member of the SNI (Level 1). She earned, a master's degree in 2001 and Ph.D. in biomedical sciences in 2009 at the Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD). Her research interests include: Micro Biology of Food, Microbiology General, Environmental Microbiology, and Bacteriology Medical.
Prof. Dr. Martín Ernesto Tiznado-Hernández is currently the principal investigator of the Physiology and Plant Molecular Laboratory at the Coordinación de Tecnología de Alimentos de Origen Vegetal, which is part of the Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo, located at Sonora, Mexico. He holds a M.Sci degree in plant physiology. He earned a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology at PURDUE University in 1999. He teaches Plant Biochemistry, Plant tissue culture, and Plant Genetic Engineering. His main research line is studying the physiology of fruits using tools Derived from DNA recombinant Technology. The Focus is on the postharvest shelf life with the primary goal of increasing this fruit development period. Also, in the elucidation of the mode of action of protocols to control the fungi infections of fruits. He is currently working on elucidating the molecular mechanism of fruit cuticle biosynthesis. Several Ph.D. and M.Sci. students have studied under his direction. He has published several thousands of genes at the Gene Bank of the NCBI. He belongs to the Mexican national research system. He received level II. He collaborates with institutions in Mexico, Turkey, Pakistan, Colombia, and the USA.
Prof. Dr. Agustín Rascón-Chu currently works as a Senior Research Professor at the Research Center for Food and Development (CIAD, AC), Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. He earned a Ph.D. in Food Science (Science des Aliments). École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Montpellier (ENSAM), France in 2004, and a Master in Science in Research Center for Food and Development (CIAD, A.C.) in 1998. He owns two Personal Patents: 1. Mexican Patent No. 363115 (MX/2019/7447). 2. Mexican Patent No. 278768.
