Juan Zhou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management and Perioperative Medicine, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada. She obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Dalhousie University. She also holds an M.D. from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xian, China. Her research interests include investigating the role of the endocannabinoid system in immune regulation in inflammation disorders (e.g., experimental sepsis, interstitial cystitis, central nerve system injury-induced immunosuppression), development of new pharmacological approaches for inflammation, and immunomodulation in transplantation tolerance.
Dr. Christian Lehmann is currently a Professor at the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management & Perioperative Medicine, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada. He holds an M.D. (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany), Ph.D. (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany), and FRCPC (Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada). His research interests include the immune consequences of local and systemic inflammation (e.g., sepsis, stroke), intravital imaging of the microcirculation in animal models and clinical studies, and the development of new pharmacological approaches for inflammation and infection. He has authored and coauthored multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and has presented works at many national and international conferences.
