Prof. Dr. Jianping Ruan obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in oral medicine from the Department of Stomatology of Xi'an Medical University in 1983 and 1987. In February 2006, he obtained a doctorate in dental medicine from the Department of Dentistry, University of Bergen, Norway. Since graduating in 1983 and working in the school, he has successively served as a resident physician, attending physician, and chief physician in the dental department, dental disease, and pediatric dental professional group, oral prevention teaching and research section, and special diagnosis department. He has also participated in the Sudanese medical team’s foreign aid work for two years. In the process of clinical treatment of dental diseases (caries, pulp and periapical diseases, developmental abnormalities, trauma, and chronic injuries), the causes and treatment measures have been studied in depth.
