Dr. Claudio Candia received his Master’s degree in medicine from the Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Naples “Federico II” in 2020. Starting from January 2021, he served as a resident physician in respiratory medicine at the University of Naples “Federico II”. His skills and expertise mainly include pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise physiology, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary sarcoidosis, respiratory function tests, respiratory diseases, and non-invasive ventilation.
Dr. Gaetano Rea is an accomplished radiologist specializing in chest radiology. He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery and specialization in Radiology cum laude from Federico II University, Naples. He has worked at Monaldi Hospital since 2003. His expertise lies in HRCT for ILDs. He serves as a Review Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology and has reviewed articles for 25 reputable scientific journals. He also has extensive experience teaching in the U.S. Dr. Rea is actively involved in the teaching of Thoracic Radiology at Federico II University in Naples. He plays a crucial role in MDT contributing to an improved patient diagnosis. He has authored 125 scientific articles cited in reputable databases with an h-index of 16 and has written books and chapters largely in the field of thoracic radiology. Recognized for his contributions, Dr. Rea is a sought-after speaker, instructor, and chairman in Radiology, Pulmonology, and Cardiology in over 250 courses and congresses. He is a member of PDTA Campania, Rare Diseases. Dr. Rea leads the Thoracic Radiology program for the Master Level 2 post-graduate in Rare Diseases at Federico II University. He is also an active member of prestigious organizations such as the European Respiratory Society (ERS), Società Italiana di Radiologia Medica (SIRM), and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI).
Dr. Michele Vitacca received his degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Brescia and became a specialist in Anesthesia and Resuscitation at the University of Parma and a specialist in Respiratory System Diseases at the University of Pavia. Starting in 2006, he served as the head of the Complex Structure Division of Rehabilitation Pneumology Fondazione S. Maugeri Lumezzane (BS). Furthermore, he is the Scientific Director of the Fondazione Maugeri Respiratory Unit, Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri IRCCS. His skills and expertise mainly include exercise science, mechanical ventilation, physical therapy, rehabilitation, ventilation, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, ICU, and exercise physiology.
Prof. Marialuisa Bocchino received her degree in medicine in 1994, and then became a specialist in respiratory medicine in 1998, both at the School of Medicine, Federico II University of Naples. In 2003, she completed her Doctorate in experimental respiratory physiopathology at the School of Medicine, University of Parma. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in Respiratory Medicine (Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery) at the School of Medicine of the Federico II University of Naples. Furthermore, she is the head of the Outpatient Unit dedicated to interstitial lung diseases and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Her skills and expertise mainly include tuberculosis, apoptosis, infection, infectious disease epidemiology, flow cytometry, inflammation, immunity, lung diseases, cellular immunology, and autoimmunity.
