Yi Liu is an associate professor at the School of Engineering, Dali University, China. He graduated in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Xihua University in 1997, obtained his M.S. at Sichuan University in 2000, and received his Ph.D. from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2006. His research direction includes 3D Printing Additive Manufacturing Direction, Biomedical Materials, and Intelligent new material processing and application.
Yaling Liu graduated in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Northwestern University. He is currently a Professor of Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics at Lehigh University. Before joining the Lehigh faculty, Liu served as assistant professor of mechanical aerospace engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington and as senior engineer with Seagate Technology and is the recipient of the NSF Early CAREER Development Award as well as the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Prof. Yaling Liu conducts interdisciplinary research in micro/nanoengineering for biology and medicine. In particular, he focuses on using combined experimental and computational fluid/solid mechanics approaches to characterize the interfacial phenomena at the micro/nanoscale and in biological systems. Current efforts in his lab focus on emerging applications in nanomedicine, biosensing, and micro/nanofabrication. These involve multiscale modeling, biofluid mechanics, image-based simulation, MEMS fabrication, microfluidic chip testing, nanoparticle adhesion dynamics, and cell manipulation.
