Author Biographies

Cezar Comanescu graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering in English (FILS) at Politehnica University of Bucharest in 2008. He received a Master of Science degree in 2010 and a PhD in Chemistry in 2011. His research activity focuses on organometallic catalysis for the synthesis of novel functional organic compounds, solution NMR spectroscopy, powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, N2 sorption isotherms, mesoporous and magnetic materials, and hydrogen storage materials. He was awarded two postdoctoral fellowships focused on organometallic chemistry and catalysis: one at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Notre Dame, USA (2012–2014; work on palladium pincer complexes) and the second at CIQUS—University Santiago de Compostela, Spain (2015–2017, work on catalytic routes to novel functionalized heterocycles of biological relevance). His research interests include organometallic compounds, catalysis, nanomaterials, energy storage, and magnetism.
Radu Racovita is currently working as a Lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania. Radu Racovita received a Doctor of Philosophy (Chemistry) from the University of British Columbia in 2016, a Master of Science (Chemistry) from Western University in 2011, and a Diploma of Engineering (Applied Chemistry and Materials Science) from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest in 2008.
