Sylvie Lorenzen is a senior physician in hematology and oncology at the Rechts der Isar Hospital in Munich. She has been on the board of the Internal Oncology Working Group (AIO) since 2019 and has been the spokesperson for the AIO’s Gastroesophageal Cancer Working Group since 2017. She is a member of several professional societies and heads the Early Clinical Trial Unit (ECTU) at the clinic. Her focus is the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal tumors, with a focus on upper gastrointestinal tumors, in all
stages, especially in the context of national and international phase I-III studies. She is the study leader of numerous industry- and publicly funded studies as well as the study leader of her own Investigator-Initiated Studies (IITs).
