Prof. Tomasz Brzozowski works as a professor of human physiology, is currently Chairman of the Department of Physiology, and was V-Dean of the Medical Faculty at Jagiellonian University Medical College, Cracow, Poland. He was a postdoctoral NIH fellow at the University of California and the Gastroenterology VA Medical Center, Irvine, Long Beach, CA, USA, and at the Gastroenterology Clinics Erlangen-Nuremberg and Munster in Germany. He is an international member of the American Gastrointestinal Association (AGA), the IUPHAR Section of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology, the Polish Academy of Science, and the Polish Academy of Art and Sciences. His primary area of scientific interest is the physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, with a major focus on the mechanism of mucosal defense, protection, and ulcer healing of the upper and lower GI tract.
