Prof. Dr. Mark Ming-Cheng Cheng joined The University of Alabama in the Fall of 2019 as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his Bachelor’s degree and doctorate in electrical engineering from National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan. He was among the first NIH postdoc trainees in Nanomedicine at the National Cancer Institute and the Ohio State University, where he developed a proteomic nanochip and multistage drug delivery systems. Between 2008–2019, Cheng was an assistant, associate, and then full professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. His research interests include sensor design, internet-of-things (IoT), brain–machine interfaces, biomedical devices, and new materials.
