Rahul Patil is working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology, School of Medicine, Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA. His research focuses on the fusion of 3D bioprinting of scaffolds, controlled drug delivery (growth factor), and tissue regeneration within the context of bone repair and other applications. He completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Uka Tarsadia University in Inida. His PhD research focused on “Studies on aqueous dispersible graphene nanosheets for drug delivery applications”. The findings of the entire thesis have been published in the form of 9 research/review articles in a reputed international journals. He also completed Master in Pharmaceutics from Uka Tarsadia University in India. His Master's research focused on in vitro characterization, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic studies of drug-loaded contact lenses for the treatment of various ocular diseases. The outcomes of his research has been published in Acta Biomaterialia and International Journal of Pharmaceutics.
Stella Alimperti is working at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology, School of Medicine, Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA. Her research in the laboratory at Georgetown University aims to identify the factors controlling the development, maintenance, loss of function, and repair/regeneration of craniofacial and musculoskeletal tissues by developing novel tissue engineering and regenerative strategies. She was a member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) from 2017 to 2022 and the Biomedical Engineering Society from 2007 to 2022. Her expertise is in Biomedical Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
