Prof. Francesco
Costa is an Interventional Cardiologist at the
Department of Biomedical and Dental Sciences and of Morphological and Functional
Images, Messina University Hospital in Italy. He completed a research
fellowship and PhD at Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in
2018. He trained and obtained a Master's Degree in interventional cardiology at
the Hospital Clinic, in Barcelona, Spain. He was appointed Ambassador of the
EAPCI Young Initiative for Italy from 2016 to 2018.
Dr. Victoria Garcia-Ruiz is affiliated with the Division of
Cardiology at GIOMI Hospital in Messina, Italy. Dr. Garcia-Ruiz’s research
interests mainly focus on radial; ulnar; distal radial; snuffbox; Percutaneous
Coronary Intervention; aortic valvuloplasty; dual antiplatelet therapy;
antiplatelet; coronary artery disease; and structural heart disease. Dr. Garcia-Ruiz’s
scientific output includes 11 publications in various journals with an h-index of
5 (Scopus, February 2024).
Prof. Mamas A Mamas is a Professor of Cardiology at Keele University and is also an Honorary Professor of Population Health at the University of Manchester. He trained in medicine at the University of Oxford, undertaking an MA in Physiological Sciences in 1994 and a DPhil in Physiological Sciences funded by the British Heart Foundation from 1994 to 1997. He completed his clinical training at the University of Oxford in 2000 and undertook house jobs in Oxford's Nuffield Department of Medicine and Cardiology. He completed his Senior Officer posts at The Royal Brompton Hospital and The Hammersmith Hospital in London, followed by a year at the Royal Salford Hospital.
Dr. Guillaume Marquis-Gravel is affiliated with Montréal
Heart Institute (Montreal, QC, Canada) and the Faculty of Medicine at
Université de Montréal (Montreal, QC, Canada). His research interests mainly
focus on cardiology, EBM, clinical cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, interventional
cardiology, aspirin, Acute Coronary Syndrome, myocardial infarction, coronary
artery disease, and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. His scientific output
includes 102 publications in various journals with an h-index of 18 (Scopus, February
2024).
Dr. Jose Maria De la Torre Hernandez got a Medical degree in 1991 and a Doctorate PhD in 2001. He was a cardiology specialist in a national program (1993-1997), a cardiology research fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center, NY (1996), and undertook an Interventional Cardiology fellowship (1998-2001). He is also a head of Cardiology Dpt. at Hospital Universitario Marques de Valdecilla, Santander, Spain, a director of the Cardiovascular research group in HUMV-IDIVAL, and an associate professor at Medical School, University of Cantabria. He has been a vice-president of the Spanish Society of Cardiology since 2021. He was a visiting scientist in the Biomedical Engineering Center in the Institute of Medical Engineering and Science at MIT, US (2016-2017). He was a founder and editor-in-chief of REC: Interventional Cardiology, an editorial consultant in JACC Interventions, and a section editor at Eurointervention.
Dr. Manuel Jimenez-Navarro is affiliated with Medicine and
Dermatology at Universidad de Malaga in Malaga, Spain. Dr. Jimenez-Navarro graduated
from Universidad de Sevilla in Sevilla, Spain in 1992. Dr. Jimenez-Navarro’s scientific
output includes 285 publications in various journals with an h-index of 30
(Scopus, February 2024).
Dr. Luis Ortega-Paz is an academic cardiologist at the UF
Health Cardiovascular Center in Jacksonville and University of Florida College
of Medicine-Jacksonville. He was trained in cardiovascular diseases at the
Cardiovascular Institute of the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona at the University
of Barcelona. His primary research topics are clinical trials, antiplatelet
therapy, platelet biology, acute coronary syndromes, and COVID-19-associated
cardiovascular complications. He has published over 75 articles in indexed
journals and five book chapters. He has been an investigator of several
randomized clinical trials and prospective registries. He has presented
lectures, oral communications, and late-breaking clinical trials at
international congresses. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in medicine and
translational research from the University of Barcelona. He is a
professional member of the European Society of Cardiology, ESC thrombosis
working group, and the European Interventional Cardiology Society. He is a
member of the editorial team of EuroIntervention journal (section editor),
PCRonline, and a peer reviewer for top cardiovascular medical journals.
Prof. Raffaele Piccolo is an Associate Professor of of Cardiology at the Department of Advanced Biomedical Sciences, the University of Naples Federico II, where he got his PhD in Experimental and Clinical Sciences. He is a member of the Association for Acute Cardio Vascular Care (ACVC) and the Heart Failure Association (HFA). His research interests include biomedical informatics, etc.
Dr. Antonio Giovanni Versace is affiliated with the Emergency
Medicine Unit, Papardo Hospital in Messina, Italy. Dr. Versace’s research
interests mainly focus on atrial fibrillation, coronavirus disease, prothrombin
time, mortality risk, and interleukin 6. Dr. Versace’s scientific output
includes 31 publications in various journals with an h-index of 10 (Scopus, March
2024).
Prof. Dr. Gianluca Di Bella is an Associate Professor in
cardiovascular diseases at University of the Messina and the Director of the
Complex Operational Unit of the UTIC of the A.O.U. “Policlinico Gaetano
Martino” of Messina. In 2001, he was awarded a degree in Medicine and Surgery,
from the University of Messina, with maximum marks of 110/110, and a degree in
Cardiovascular Diseases, from the University of Messina, with full marks 50/50
cum laude in 2005. He also received his Ph.D. in Imaging Methodologies and
Cardiovascular Techniques from the University of Messina in 2009. He is a
member of the following scientific societies: the Italian Society of Cardiology
(SIC), the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (SIEC), the European
Society of Cardiology (ESC), and the Working Group of Cardiac Magnetic
Resonance of ESC.
Prof. Dominick J Angiolillo, MD, Ph.D., is Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Medical Director of the UF Health Cardiovascular Center. He graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart Medical School in Rome, Italy, where he completed training in medicine and cardiology. He then pursued training in interventional cardiology at the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain and received his Ph.D. in cellular and molecular cardiology. In 2004, he joined the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville, where he is a professor of medicine with tenure status, director of cardiovascular research, and director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program. He is a staff cardiologist and interventional cardiologist on the UF Health Jacksonville campus. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Prof. Marco
Valgimigli is a deputy of Cardiology at Cardiocentro Ticino (Lugano,
Switzerland), and a head of clinical research. He is also a professor of
Medicine at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at Università della Svizzera
Italiana (Lugano, Switzerland). He obtained his medical degree in 1997 at the
University of Bologna, Italy. He performed his training in internal medicine at
the University of Bologna in 1997-1999 and completed his training in cardiology
at the University of Ferrara in 2003. In 2004, he started a clinical and
research fellowship in the catheterization laboratory of the Thoraxcenter,
Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, where he obtained his PhD title.
