Dr. Celia H. Tengan holds a degree in medicine from the Federal University of São Paulo (1986), a master’s degree in medicine (neurology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1993), and a doctorate in medicine (neurology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1997). She is currently responsible for the Laboratory of Molecular Neurology of the Discipline of Neurology and Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Neurology/Neurosciences. She was the coordinator of the same graduate program from 2015 to 2021. She has experience in the area of medicine, with an emphasis on neurology, working mainly on the following topics: mitochondrial genetics, mitochondrial diseases, periodic paralysis, and molecular biology applied to neurology.
