Author Biographies

Dr. Ashwin K. V. Mruthunjaya is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Deakin University in 2022 and a Master's in chemistry from Kuvempu University, India, in 2010. During his Ph.D., he worked on developing direct oral anticoagulant sensors and DNA sensors based on multicomponent nucleic acid enzymes using co-facing electrode systems. His current research interests are electrochemical biosensors, analytical chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry, organic synthesis, and the study of redox mechanisms using spectro-electrochemical tools. Before moving to Australia, he was a Research Assistant from 2012 to 2017 at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India.
Dr. Angel A. J. Torriero is a Senior Lecturer of Chemistry at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University, Melbourne Burwood Campus, Australia. He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmacy at Universidad Nacional de San Luis in 2000 and obtained his Ph.D. in Sciences (Doctorate in Chemistry) from the same faculty in 2006. In 2016, he received a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching (Education) from Deakin University. He has authored over 84 publications in chemistry and electrochemistry, with over 3400 citations and an h-index of 31 (Google Scholar).
