Lefkothea Dova has a PhD in Cancer Molecular Biology. She has been a Senior Research Associate at the Neurosurgical Institute, University of Ioannina, studying the impact of intraoperative Flow Cytometry (iFC) in cancer cell detection and margins evaluation during surgical tumor excision. She is currently a Biochemist at the Unit of Molecular Biology, Haematology Laboratory, University Hospital of Ioannina, Greece, which is a reference center in the Epirus region for the diagnosis of hematology malignancies and autoimmune diseases using flow cytometry.
Prof. Ioannis Kotsianidis is a Professor of Hematology, at Democritus Thrace University, School of Medicine, Head of the Hematology department, University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, Greece. Ioannis Kotsianidis has received a Ph.D. from Democritus Thrace University, School of Medicine, Alexandroupolis, Greece. Ioannis Kotsianidis has extensive experience in the management of patients with hematological malignancies, primarily patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD). Ioannis Kotsianidis' responsibilities comprise patient management and follow-up on the ward (daily) and outpatient clinics (thrice weekly). Also, Ioannis Kotsianidis is Head of the Laboratory of Hematology and Immunohematology and is in charge of the clinical immunophenotyping service of the Hematology Department of the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis. Ioannis Kotsianidis’ current research interests are focused on the immune regulation and cell signaling interactions of normal and malignant hematopoiesis.
Prof. Eleftheria Hatzimichael is an Associate Professor of Haematology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ioannina, Greece. She completed her MD and Ph.D. studies at the University of Ioannina, Greece, and has been awarded a Scholarship by the Foundation of the Hellenic Society of Hematology to work with Prof Isidore Rigoutsos as a visiting scientist at the Computational Medicine Centre, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, US, in the field of the noncoding human genome by computational and experimental approaches. She has published more than 120 papers in various journals (h index 31), and serves as the secretary of the Hellenic MDS Study Group, as a member of the board of directors of the Hellenic Society of Hematology, and as a member of the Editorial Board of Diseases (section Oncology). She is the PI of 30 Phase III and IV clinical trials and has served as a sub-investigator in more than 25 Phase I-III clinical trials and as a reviewer for more than 27 journals.
