Dr. Eleonora Lai is a medical doctor at the Medical Oncology Unit, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria, Cagliari. Her main research interests include tumor immunology; the immunocompetence of cancer patients and immunotherapy; the role of microenvironment and inflammation in ovarian cancer; pathophysiology and treatment of cancer-related anorexia/cachexia; combined modality treatment of gynecological tumors; pathogenesis and treatment of cancer anemia; inflammation and ovarian cancer; pathogenesis and prognostic markers of hormone-dependent breast cancer; palliative and supportive therapy of cancer patients; laparoscopic surgery for gynecological cancers; and complex benign gynecological diseases.
Prof. Dr. Mario Scartozzi has been the chair of the Department of Medical Science and Public Health, Università degli Studi di Cagliari from December 2017 to the present. His research experience includes being an associate professor at the Department of Medical Science "Mario Aresu", Università degli Studi di Cagliari from November 2014 to December 2017 and the head of Medical Oncology at the Department of Medical Science "Mario Aresu", Università degli Studi di Cagliari from November 2014 to present. His major research interests lie in investigations of Hepatocellular Carcinoma; Gastrointestinal Diseases; Colorectal Cancer; Clinical Oncology; Oncology; Cancer Research; Hepatobiliary Surgery; Tumors; Cancer; and Surgery.
