Kula Kekeba Tune is an assistant professor and senior instructor at the Department of Software Engineering, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), Ethiopia. He had also served as a
Senior Researcher and Head of the HPC and Big Data Analytics Centre of Excellence at AASTU. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad, India) in 2015. He received his BSc and MSc degree in Information Science from Addis Ababa University, where he had served in various academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Information Science. Most of his research interests are centered on applications of AI and big data analytics as well as the development of NLP and multilingual information access technologies for indigenous Ethiopian Languages.
Beakal Gizachew Assefa received an MSc in Computer Engineering from the Izmir Institute of Technology and a PhD in Computer Engineering and Science from the Koç University. He was a teaching and research assistant at Koç University and is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Technology and Engineering at Addis Ababa University. His research interests include artificial intelligence, databases, software-defined networks, energy efficiency, machine learning, and distributed systems.
