Prof. Yi Yang is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Manufacturing Science and Engineering of Sichuan University, an outstanding expert with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province, a director of the Sichuan Provincial Casting Committee, a member of the First Patent Award Review Committee of Sichuan Province, a member of the China Machinery Industry Education Association Materials Molding, Deputy Chairman of the Casting Subcommittee of the Control Subject Teaching Committee and an editorial board member of the international journal Journal of Manufacture Review. In 1998 and 2008, he was appointed by the Ministry of Education as a visiting scholar and senior visiting scholar at Strathclyde University in the UK. His research topics mainly include material-forming process and special forming process methods; research on the mechanism of micro-manufacturing and micro-forming process; and material-forming technology and performance control under multi-physical coupling conditions (electric field, magnetic).
