Author Biographies

Nicola Ferri is a Full Professor in Pharmacology at the University of Padua in the Department of Medicine. He obtained a Ph.D. in "Toxicology of Environment and Nutrition" and a Master's in “Pharmacy and Oncological Pharmacology” at the University of Milan. He grew as a Scientist at the University of Milan in the Department of Pharmacology and in the United States (from 1999 until 2003) joining the Laboratory of Prof. Russell Ross in Seattle. His main scientific interest focuses on drugs affecting lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis. He received several honors, including the “Giovani Ricercatori” award from the Italian Society for the Study of Atherosclerosis (SISA). He was elected to the organizing committee of the European Lipoprotein Club meeting (from 2017 until 2027) and of the SISA Veneto section (from 2018 to 2022). He is the author of more than 170 peer-review manuscripts.
Dr. Elisa Colombo is an external collaborator for the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Milan, and a member of the Coordinated Research Center on Pharmacological Interactions. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2007 from the University of Milan, and in 2010, she obtained her PhD in Molecular Genetics from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome. From 2011 to 2015, she worked in the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Milan, with a post-doc grant to study the anti-inflammatory properties of different medicinal plants on the gastrointestinal system. Since 2017, she has been working as post-doc fellow in the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Milan, with a project financed by EDRA SpA for the building and update of a database on pharmacological drug-drug and drug-herb interactions. Her research interests include Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Phytotherapy, Molecular Biology, and Molecular Genetics.
Prof. Alberto Corsini is a Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan in Italy. He is also a Coordinator and Scientific Director of the Master in Oncological Pharmacy and Pharmacology course at the University of Milan. He obtained a Ph.D. in “Experimental Medicine: Atherosclerosis” from the University of Siena. He has high expertise in radioactive and biological analysis in pharmacological research.
