Author Biographies

Dr. Ezio Zanon is currently Head and Professor at the Haemophilia Centre of General Medicine, University of Padua Medical School, Italy. He graduated in Medicine in 1989 and specialised in Haematology in 1994. He became Assistant in Medicine (Resident) at the Institute of Patologia Speciale Medica III (Internal Medicine) University of Padua Medical School in 1997 and Assistant in Medicine (Resident), Second Chair of Internal Medicine at the University of Padua Medical School in 1998. He was indentured to Professor at the School of Specialization in Haematology at the University of Padua Medical School in 2001. He became Head of the Haemophilia Centre at the University of Padua Medical School in 2005. His research interests are focused on the study of Haemophilia A and B, von Willebrand disease, rare coagulation disorders, antipholipid antibodies, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, venous thromboembolism, and arterial thrombosis.
Dr. Annamaria Porreca is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the field of Medical Statistics at the University of "G. d’Annunzio" Chieti-Pescara, Italy. Her research interests are focused on the study of biostatistics; machine learning; statistical learning; epidemiology; data analysis; clustering; and classification.
Dr. Paolo Simioni is currently a Professor at the General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, Padua University Hospital, Padua, Italy. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Internal Medicine at the University of Amsterdam Academic Medical Centre in 1997. He has been Director of the School of Specialization in Medicina di comunità e delle cure primarie since 2016. He has also been the Director of the II-level University Master’s Degree in Vascular Medicine and Thrombotic and Haemorrhagic Diseases from 2017 to today. His research interests are focused on the study of thrombosis and hemostasis.
