Dr. Agostino Piro is a Research Fellow at the Department of Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nephrology, Anaesthesiology, and Geriatric Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome. He completed his Ph.D. studies at the Sapienza University of Rome in 2015. He has more than 33 publications with 289 citations and an h-index of 10 (Scopus, 23 November 2023). He is also a member of the European Heart Rhythm Association.
Paolo Compagnucci graduated from Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona, where he also completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine in 2020, after ranking first among >10000 in the National Italian Examination for access to fellowship programs. Cristina Chimenti is a specialist in cardiology with a PhD in cellular and molecular cardiology, and is chair of the ANMCO Rare Diseases area. Her fields of interest include amyloidosis; myocarditis; Fabry disease; hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; dilated cardiomyopathy; rare diseases; arterial hypertension; and ischemic heart disease. In 1994 she graduated in medicine and surgery (110/110 cum Laude) from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, where she specialized in cardiology (50/50 cum Laude) in 1998. At the same University, she obtained a PhD in cellular and molecular cardiology in 2001. She specialized in the study of cardiomyopathies at the New York Medical College in New York. Currently, she works as a freelancer at GMF Medical Center; as a Professor in Cardiology at the Department of Clinical, Internal, Anesthesiological and Cardiovascular Sciences of La Sapienza University of Rome; and is head of the Cardiology Department of the Policlinico Umberto I of Rome, and of the Cardiomyopathies and Myocarditis clinic. She also holds the role of Director of the Molecular Biology Laboratory at the INMI L. Spallanzani in Rome. Furthermore, she is a professor of cardiology at the School of Specialization in Cardiology of La Sapienza University of Rome, the Research Doctorate in "Arterial Hypertension", and has participated as a teacher in numerous seminars and refresher courses.

Antonio Dello Russo is an associate professor of cardiology at the Marche Polytechnic University, and is Director of the Cardiology and Arrhythmology Clinic of the Ospedali Riuniti Hospital in Ancona, Italy. He obtained the National Scientific Qualification as a full professor of cardiology in November 2020. He is a PhD in cardiovascular physiopathology at the Catholic University of Rome. He is responsible for some major health and research institutional projects, and has been asked to participate in many RCTs and research projects as principal investigator. He is currently involved in teaching at the university both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and serves as a member of the PhD Collegium on Human Sciences. Currently, he is a member of the Ethics Committee of Marche, Italy. His international collaborations include the St Davids Hospital in Austin USA where he is currently a teaching professor.
Fabio Miraldi is a professor at the Department of Clinical, Internal, Anesthesiology and Cardiovascular Sciences, Umberto I Hospital, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He was a Research Fellow in Cardiac Surgery at La Sapienza University in Rome in 1998 and an Associate Professor in Cardiac Surgery at La Sapienza University in Rome in 2001. His research interests include the surgical treatment of arrhythmias, extracorporeal circulation, stentless valves, tissue engineering, and fencing.
Carmine Dario Vizza, MD, is an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Disease, and Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Unit at the University of Rome La Sapienza. He is the founder and president of the Italian Pulmonary Hypertension Network (IPHNET), which includes 23 Italian PH centers. Professor Vizza has a lot of clinical experience in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, and has published widely in the field of pulmonary vascular physiology, pulmonary transplantation, and pulmonary hypertension. He participated as principal investigator in several international multicenter randomized studies on pulmonary hypertension, including ALPHABET, PHAST, EARLY, PHIRST, COMPASS-1, SERAPHIN, and AMBITION. He served as a member of the steering committee of the COMPARE registry.
