Prof. Dr. Fred Paas is a Professor of Educational Psychology
at the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies of Erasmus
University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He is also a Professorial Fellow at
UNSW and UOW in Australia. He holds a master’s degree (1988) in human movement
sciences and a Ph.D. degree (1993) in instructional technology. He is
editor-in-chief of the journal Educational Psychology Review, an editorial board
member of the Journal of Educational Psychology, and a fellow of the American
Educational Research Association. In 2016 he was identified as the world’s most
productive author in the field of educational psychology research for the
period 2009–2014.
