Xueming Du has a position as an Assistant Professor at the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation, Zhengzhou University, China. He was a Ph.D. student at the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, The University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2017–2018 and at the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, Central South University, China, in 2014–2018.
Hongyuan Fang is a Professor of the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation at Zhengzhou University, China. He received his Ph.D. at the School of Infrastructure Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He mainly engaged in the research of disaster mechanisms and the trenchless repair of underground pipe networks.
Bin Li received his Ph.D. at Zhengzhou University, China, and is now an Assistant Professor at the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation here. His research interests include tunnels, foundation pits, underground pipelines, pipe jacking, and other geotechnical and underground structures. He is also interested in the mechanical mechanism, disease detection, service life prediction, and trenchless repair of underground drainage pipes.
Dr. Xiaohua Zhao has a position as an associate professor and graduate secretary and is currently working at the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China (2019–present). He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural hydraulic engineering from Northwest Agricultural and Forestry University in 2014 and a doctorate in hydraulic structural engineering from Wuhan University in 2019. His main research directions are the explosion protection of high concrete dams and the dynamics of polymer materials under explosion impact.
Kejie Zhai graduated from Fuzhou University and received his M.Sc. In 2021–2022, he went to Queen's University, and in 2022, he received his Ph.D. at Sun Yat-sen University. He is now a researcher at the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation, Zhengzhou University, China. His research interests include underground engineering disaster protection and FRP reinforcement.
Binghan Xue received a Ph.D. in Hydraulic Structure Engineering at the Dalian University of Technology in 2018. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China. His research interests include nondestructive testing, trenchless repair of dikes and dams, seismic safety evaluation of hydraulic structures, and the scaled boundary finite element method.
Shanyong Wang is a Professor at the Priority Research Centre for Geotechnical Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Newcastle, Australia. He graduated from the City University of Hong Kong and received his Ph.D. in Building and Construction. Then, he moved to the USA and worked as a full-time postdoctoral research fellow at the Catholic University of America (CUA). In 2008, he joined the Centre for Geotechnical and Materials Modeling (CGMM) at the University of Newcastle, Australia. In 2014, he was awarded the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research Performance. In addition, due to his outstanding contribution in his field, in November 2017, he was awarded the 2018 John Booker Medal in Engineering Science by the Australian Academy of Science. His expertise and research interests lie in advanced computational analysis of soft soil deformation and improvement and fracture evolution in brittle materials such as concrete and rock by the finite element and discrete element methods, as well as the experimental study of loose fill slopes and soil nails combined with grouting.
