Prof. Dr. David Navarro graduated in Medicine and
Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia in 1985,
specializing in Clinical Microbiology in the Microbiology Service of the
University Clinical Hospital of Valencia in 1988, and obtained the degree of
Doctor of Medicine from the University of Valencia in 1989. That same year, he
obtained a postdoctoral scholarship from the Ministry of Education and Science
to complete his scientific training at the University of California San
Francisco (UCSF). Upon his return, in 1993, he entered public service as
University Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Valencia and a Doctor
of Microbiology in the Microbiology Service of the University Clinical
Hospital. He is currently head of the Microbiology Service of the Hospital
Universitario de Valencia and Full Professor of Microbiology at the University
of Valencia. He has more than 400 publications.
