Sinisa Savic is a Professor of Clinical Immunology at the School of Medicine, University of Leeds and honorary consultant immunologist. He is a current chair of the British Society for Immunology-Clinical Professional Network (BSI-CIPN). He completed undergraduate medical training at Newcastle University and gained PhD from the University of Leeds in 2010, after which he returned to full-time clinical training in immunology which he completed in 2011. In 2012, he was awarded the position of Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Leeds. He joined the University of Leeds as a Clinical Associate Professor in October 2016. Before this, he held a full-time NHS post as a Consultant Immunologist based at St James’s University Hospital. He was promoted to the position of Professor of Clinical Immunology in 2023. He leads a regional Department of Clinical Immunology at Allergy at St James’s University Hospital and provides specialist care for patients with primary immunodeficiencies, systemic autoinflammatory disorders, and allergies. His research interest is genetic and molecular basis of inborn errors if immunity. A more recent focus of his research has been the role of somatic mutations in pathogenesis of inflammatory conditions. He also has active research interest in pathogenesis and treatment of chronic urticaria (CU) and management of drug allergies. He has been principal investigator and numerous clinical trials related to CU and hereditary angoredema.
