Robert Flisiak is a professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology at the Medical University of Białystok, Białystok, Poland. He gained his medical education at the Medical University of Bialystok and completed training there in internal medicine (1988) and infectious diseases (1991). In 1991–1992, he completed research training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and additional clinical training in London and Salzburg. He is the current President of the Polish Association of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, President of the Central European Hepatologic Collaboration, President of the Polish Expert Group for HBV, and the past President of the Polish Association for the Study of the Liver. His scientific activity has focused on infectious diseases and hepatology.
Professor Roxana Nemes, senior physician in Pneumology
and Pediatrics, received her doctorate degree in medicine from the University
of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila,” Bucharest, Romania. Elected President
of the Romanian Pneumology Society (2020–2024). Dr Nemes is currently the Head
of the Pulmonary Function Test Department at the National Institute of
Pneumology “Marius Nasta,” Bucharest. Her research activity has materialized in
five grants and more than 20 national and international clinical trials. The
main area of her research is respiratory disorders, mainly related to asthma
and COPD. Professor Nemes has authored and co-authored more than 14
books/chapters and 120 articles in national and international journals. She is
a professor at the Department of Pathophysiology of the Faculty of Medicine at
Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest. She is a member of several
international societies such as ERS, ATS, EAACI, and FCCP.
