Alfredo G. Torres is a Professor in Microbiology and Immunology at the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and Sealy Center for Vaccine Development, University of Texas Medical Branch. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Biology, and his M.S. degree in Microbiology at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Puebla, México, in 1992 and 1995, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at University of Texas, Austin, Texas, USA, in 1999. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow of Bacterial Pathogenesis at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, until 2003.
