Marcelo Valle Garcia is a microbiologist and food scientist with proven experience improving the scientific community. He received his MSc and PhD in Food Science and Technology from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria Centro de Ciências Rurais in 2015 and 2020, respectively. His research interest is focused on ​​food science and technology, food microbiology, and food mycology.

Prof. Dr. Marina Venturini Copetti graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Santa Maria in 2003, obtained a master’s degree in veterinary science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2005, and completed her Ph.D. in Food Science at the State University of Campinas with a period at the Technical University of Denmark in 2009 and carried out post doctoral studies in AgriFood at Cranfield University in 2022. She is an associate professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the Federal University of Santa Maria in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2010- now). With expertise in Food Science and Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Copetti specializes in food mycology, dealing with food spoilage by molds and its control.  She is a proud member of the Brazilian Microbiological Society.
