Oleg I. Kolodiazhnyi is a Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, and a well-known researcher in the fields of organophosphorus chemistry, organophosphorus reagents, phosphorus iodides, and the asymmetric synthesis of organophosphorus compounds. He is currently the Head of Chemistry of Physiologically Active Compounds, IBONH NAS, Kyiv, Ukraine. He obtained a diploma of higher education with a specialty as an engineer technologist (Dnipropetrovsk Institute of Chemical Technology) in 1965, a Doctor of Chemical Sciences (Institute of Organic Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv) in 1982, and the academic title of Professor in the field of Organic Chemistry in 1986. His main scientific areas include the chemistry of phosphorus iodides; asymmetric synthesis of organophosphorus compounds; and synthesis of phosphorus analogues of natural compounds and potential biologically active compounds.
