G. Roshan Deen is a Lecturer in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical
Chemistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Medical University of
Bahrain, and is the principal investigator of the Materials for Medicine
Research Group. He graduated in
Chemistry from the University of Madras in 1991, received an MSc in Applied
Chemistry from Anna University in 1993, and an MSc in Materials Science from
Nanyang Technological University in 1997. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science
from Nanyang Technological University in 2001. He won the Outstanding Mentor
Award from the Ministry of Education, Singapore in 2018. He is a member of the
Danish Colloid Society, Danish Neutron Scattering Society, and Belgian Particle
and Interface Society. His current research interests include biomaterials,
nanomedicine, green synthesis of
nanoparticles for biomedical applications, stimuli-responsive polymers,
hydrogels, energy-storage materials, and medical education.
UWE TORSTEN is currently a Professor and
Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal College of
Surgeons in Ireland, Campus Bahrain. He was awarded his Doctorate in Medicine
(MD) from the University of Berlin. This was followed by a postdoctoral grant
from the German Research Foundation, and he was also a Research Fellow at the
National Institute of Health in Berlin in Molecular Biology. In 1986, he was
appointed as the Registrar and Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology at
the University Hospital Benjamin Franklin, University of Berlin. In 1993 he was
appointed to the Berlin Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Consultant in
Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Hospital Benjamin Franklin, University of
Berlin. In 2007, he obtained his Master's in Business Administration-General
Management-Dual Award from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom. His
research interests mainly include different types of gynaecological cancer.
